ADP Canada National Employment Report: Employment in Canada Increased by 25,900 Jobs in January 2020

TORONTO, Feb. 20, 2020 /CNW/ -- Employment in Canada increased by 25,900 jobs from December to January according to the January ADP® Canada National Employment Report.  Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Canada National Employment Report is produced by the ADP Research Institute®.  The report, which is derived from actual ADP payroll data, measures the change in total nonfarm payroll employment each month on a seasonally-adjusted basis.

"The January labour market experienced an increase in payroll, driven by strong gains in trade, transportation and utilities, construction and healthcare." said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. "However, natural resources and mining, information and leisure and hospitality posted job losses."

The December total of jobs added was revised up from 46,200 to 46,700.

The February 2020 ADP Canada National Employment Report will be released at 8:30a.m.ET on March 19, 2020.
